FAQ's

Q. Can you work with our software?
A. Yes, NHS has the ability to work with any software!

Q. How does it work?
A. You complete the claim form from your computer, just the same as you do now. And instead of printing the claim form to mail, you save it as an attachment and send it to us. We receive your mail as an E-Mail and it goes through our editors and we send it on the same day to the carriers.

Q. How often can we transmit?
A. 24/7. Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. The insurers require all claims in by 6:00 PM Pacific Standard time for them to be counted as that day's activity. NHS requires that if you want it counted on that day's activity report in needs to be received by NHS by 4:00 PM Pacific Standard.

Q. Can we send all claims to NHS in one batch, or to different insurance carriers?
A. You can send everything all at once. We will do the rest. It saves you so much time this way.

Q. What carriers accept electronic claims?
A. There are over 1,300 carriers that accept claims electronically. You can search for carrier(s) in our database or alphabetically.

Q. How long does it take to get paid? Who gets the check?
A. There are three kinds of carriers; Government, Commercial, and Blue Cross/Blue Shield. The Government pays within 7-14 days, and the Blues pay in 3-5 days. These are business days. Not calendar days.

Q. Do the EOB's and Checks go the the Doctor?
A. The "Explanation Of Benefits" and the checks will continue to go to the Physician as they now go. In some very rare cases some very large billing services get the EOB's and the checks for the disbursement to the hospitals and practitioners.

Q. Do I have to buy a new module with my current software program?
A. No, you do not have to buy anything! No new software.

Q. How do I handle dual coverage?
A. You will continue to handle it the same way as you do now. The only difference is you may get paid faster from the secondary than you will from the primary. The reason for this will be due to the fact that the secondary coverage might be BLUE CROSS which pays in 3-5 days instead of the commercial which pays 7-14 days. Or you might get paid from the primary first. It just depends on who pays the fastest. But the paperwork is done in the same way. We transmit both claims at the same time.

Q. How long does it take to get started?
A. We have you up and running right away. We need a list of your physicians and need to map your 1st batch. Then we will run the test batch and iron out any wrinkles. The entire process will take 3 business days.

Q. How soon do we get reports back or a response to our submission?
A. If you transmit prior to 4:00 PM you will get reports by 10:00 AM the following day. We are getting reports back in most cases the same day, but we'd rather under promise than over deliver. There are thirteen reports that you will receive. From daily to monthly.
